We Need Vaccine Access Around the World for Our Jobs

March 20, 2021 — The COVID-19 pandemic is a global public health and economic crisis. In order to defeat COVID and secure our jobs and industry, we need people and countries around the world to have access to COVID vaccines in order to get back to normal.

March 19, 2021 — Earlier this week, eight people—six of whom were Asian women—were killed in the Atlanta shootings at three spas. The incident has shaken many in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, including Flight Attendants.

FAA Extends Zero Tolerance Policy for Unruly Passengers

March 16, 2021 — The FAA announced that it will extend the zero tolerance policy for unruly passengers, implemented in January. AFA previously called on the FAA to extend the policy while testifying before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in February.

We Did It Again: PSP Extended!

March 10, 2021 — We did it again! Congress passed the American Rescue Plan, extending our Payroll Support Program for Flight Attendants and all aviation workers through September 30, 2021. President Biden will sign the bill into law this week. Call your Representative to pass the American Rescue Plan!

March 9, 2021 — The Senate passed the American Rescue Plan (ARP) on Saturday, March 6th, and the House is set to take up the final vote tomorrow morning, March 10th. Then it will head to President Biden's desk to become law—extending the Payroll Support Program (PSP) and securing job protections and healthcare for all aviation workers through September 30, 2021. PSP is important to stop furloughs now, but there are protections for all aviation workers: no cuts to hourly pay, continued service to all communities, caps executive compensation for two years after relief and bans stock buybacks and dividends for one year after the relief period ends. 

American Rescue Plan Puts Workers First

March 8, 2021 — With the American Rescue Plan (ARP), the Biden-Harris Administration and the Democrats in Congress are on the brink of passing sweeping legislation that puts America on the path to defeating the virus and rebuilding our economy stronger for working people and families. This is a rescue plan built from the ground up that takes direct aim at the virus and at the economic hurt across the country. The Senate approved the bill on Saturday, March 6 (with aviation PSP included) and the House is expected to vote on the bill March 9th or 10th.
