January 21, 2020 — The novel coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, in December 2019, is creating growing concern for air travel. Six cases have now been confirmed in the United States. AFA is contacting our airlines in an effort to put in place information and precautions for crewmembers. We are sharing what we know about the virus now, although health officials are still determining the full implications of the virus and how it is spread.

New Option of PreCheck for Non-Uniform Crewmember

January 21, 2020 — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced an expanded option for non-uniformed crewmembers transiting security checkpoints with a crew badge. Crewmembers with a badge may now utilize the PreCheck lines out of uniform. All security screening requirements for PreCheck still apply. Liquid and gel exceptions continue to only apply to uniformed crewmembers

January is National Slavery & Human Trafficking Prevention Month

January 3, 2020 - January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. We can take a stand against human trafficking by recommitting ourselves to end it on our planes. As Flight Attendants and aviation's first responders, we are uniquely positioned to identify human traffickers and assist their victims.

December 20, 2019 - Eleven years ago today, Al Felipe, Pam Howard and Regina Ressler safely evacuated 110 passengers from Continental Flight 1404 as it burned near a runway in Denver.

December 20, 2019 - We are grateful this holiday season our federal union sister and brothers who do critical aviation work like our air traffic controllers, TSA officers, and FAA safety inspectors will have the certainty of a paycheck. Congress and the White House reached a deal to fund the government and avoid a shutdown. Included in the funding bill is the Bipartisan American Miners Act.
