December 1, 2020 - It's been two months since 100,000 aviation workers lost a paycheck and many lost health insurance. Our #ReliefNow Day of Action today continues our fight to extend the Payroll Support Program and relief for all working Americans. 

In Loving Memory of Larry Willis

November 30 —  Last night, a champion for Flight Attendants and all aviation workers passed with his wife and daughter at his side. The President of the Transportation Trades Department, the affiliated transportation unions of the AFL-CIO, Larry Willis, 53, succumbed to injuries sustained on November 22 in a tragic biking accident. TTD Remembrance >

This Thanksgiving and holiday season is unlike any we’ve known—just as 2020 is unlike any year in the history of commercial aviation.

Remain Vigilant During Holiday Travel

November 24, 2020 — Thanksgiving holiday travel kicked off last weekend with TSA screening more than 1 million passengers on Sunday — the most since March 16. While it will look very different from years past, we expect the next 6 weeks to be the busiest we’ve seen since the pandemic upended our jobs and lives. At the same time, COVID infections are running at the highest rate since the onset of the pandemic. We need to remain vigilant and attentive to the safety procedures we have in place.

Congress Leaves Without Relief, AFA Plans Day of Action on Dec. 1

November 20, 2020 — Congress will leave town for their Thanksgiving break without passing essential COVID relief for millions of Americans, including aviation workers. It is infuriating and unacceptable. 

Our #1 Priority: Extending PSP

November 13 — Our number one priority is extending the Payroll Support Program. Chairman DeFazio’s office and Chairman Wicker’s office yesterday spoke at the Washington D.C. AeroClub to convey that extending PSP is a top priority. This includes recalling and restoring anyone currently on furlough.
