Remembering 9/11: Twenty-Four Years Later. A Message from your AFA EAP
September 2, 2025 - Twenty-four years have passed since September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed the lives of Flight Attendants, aviation workers, and our nation. For Flight Attendants who were already in the profession, the memories remain vivid—the shock, the grief, and the courage shown by our flying partners who were called to act in unimaginable circumstances.
Their bravery is etched into the heart of our profession, a reminder that Flight Attendants are first and foremost first responders. For those who were not yet in the profession, 9/11 reinforced why vigilance and compassion are inseparable in our work, and why unity among crew members is our greatest strength.
As we honor the events of that day and those that we lost, whether you carried the weight of that day firsthand or you joined the skies in its aftermath, remember that your AFA EAP is here to support you.
