AFA Members Attend Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance Convention
July 18, 2025 - AFA-CWA members joined hundreds of our union siblings at the 2025 Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA) Conference in Los Angeles, California. The Conference theme — Solidarity, Resistance, Unity — was present throughout, from the workshops and presentations to the march and rally to support UFCW Local 770 workers.
United AFA Flight Attendant Stan Kiino was awarded the Tam Tran Freedom Fight Award in recognition of his tireless advocacy for LGBTQ+ workers, pioneering work within AFA, and continued advocacy for APALA.
The CWA Human Rights Department also led a caucus for AFA and CWA members discussing their training program and radio show, and the continuing efforts to build a strong coalition with APALA.
